Hello and welcome to
the Model Horse Creations part of Celtic Stars.
What I do here is
every thing from painting model horses,
reshaping them to making Native American tack
for them. Every thing is done with great care
and done down to the tiniest detail. I also do
the Etching, where a razor is used to make fine
scrapes in the paint on a horse so the body then
looks like real hair. This is very time
consuming and takes a great deal of time and
detail.
Simple Customs: A
simple custom is as easy as taking and painting
the eyes on a model horse so they look real. It
adds a ton of class and personality to the
horse. Also painting white hairs on the main and
tales, stripes on hooves, mapping on paints or
roaning on appys ect.
Drastic Customs: A
drastic custom can be as minor as moving a leg
on a model horse or just painting the whole
horse. They can also be as in depth as reshaping
the whole horse where it can not be recognized
as the model it once was along with some times
sculpting custom body parts on the horse and a
complete new paint job.
Native American Tack:
I make tack for the horses that can be shown at
Breyer horse shows or that simply looks stunning
sitting on a shelf in the house.
I use all natural
materials, from deer hide for the actual leather
work, to fake sinew for holding things together
or for halters. I use only wild bird feathers
and no chicken feathers will be used. I use
buffalo, deer, coyote, wolf, fox, beaver, porky
pine quills and very little rabbit fur.
I make the saddles
and travois for the horses and can add
accessory's like a quiver complete with a mini
bow and arrows "that I hand make", a club with
an actual stone tied to it, and the baby cradles
they used to carry the little ones in.
The travois is made
from Beaver Chewed sticks..."no I don't buy them
but wade in murky water looking for them!" So
the unique design on each sick is different and
all natural with out using the plain straight
dowels seen on some others.
I use thorns from
rose bushes to mimic bear claws to add detail
and authenticity. "looks really neat!" Bead
work...well beads even the small ones are two
big for real life so I take paint and a tooth
pick and dot the leather to mimic bead work, it
is very stunning and looks more real since that
is what the native Americans really did.
On a set that
includes the horse I can paint marking's that
have the true meaning behind them and are not
there for just look but actually tell a story of
a life that a horse might have lived. Feathers
can also be permanently added to the main and
tale of the horse as part of a package.
Every last thing is
done all natural and every last stitch is done
by hand, there is a lot of hours that go into
the making of a saddle and travois and all the
accessory's. But the end result is beautiful.
Etching: I have
greatly enjoyed the etching of the breyer horses
though it takes a lot of time and work not to
mention the strain on my eyes. Each one of my
etched horses have NAN qualified at their first
shows and one went one to become a CH in
performance and halter. The judges just love
that horse. I have since sold that one and lost
track of it so don't have any pictures to show.
I hope to find time to do a few more in the very
near future.
I would be very happy
to do custom paint jobs on other peoples horses
and make the Native American Tack and/or take an
order for an etched horse.
Simple paint job:
(eyes, feet, mapping, roaning and mains and
tales) are only $10.00
Native American Tack:
Depends on what you want done and the amount of
detail you want added.
Etched Horses:
Again would depend on the size, color and if it
is a full body or just mapping.
So please e mail me for price quotes.
But please enjoy
looking through some of the work I have done
though not every thing is up on this page yet.
